Screen MEMBER'S PRODUCTION GROUP |
ABOUT
THE MEMBER'S PRODUCTION GROUP [MPG]
The MPG is a collaborative collective of Metro Screen members
who meet on a monthly basis. MPG meetings offer the opportunity
to meet and network with other members, pitch
projects for equipment use, screen works for feedback,
share skills and resources and collaborate with others to produce
films, TV content and media projects. The group also plays host
to workshops and industry panel talks
from a range of professionals who offer tips and advice on finding
success in TV, film and new media industries.
The MPG is made up of a wide range of people with varying levels
of experience and expertise with the common bond of a passion for
filmmaking! So whether you’re just starting out, looking to
meet like-minded people, help on productions or find crew for your
project; come along and meet the group.

Screen MPG Pitching Session |
Apr
3, 2007
PITCHING SESSION
$15,000 MPG Annual Subsidy Fund
Warm up your powers of persuasion and pitch for production support
OR be an audience member and decide who wins.
WHAT
Metro Screen members have the opportunity to access filmmaking
equipment or facilities through the $15,000 MPG annual subsidy
fund.
All you need to do is pitch your filmmaking project to the group
and persuade them to support your vision! Pitchers must have attended
at least one MPG meeting and be a current financial Metro Screen
member.
HOW
Potential pitchers must submit pitching documents by Friday 30th
March at 5pm. The sessions are limited to four pitchers.
CRITERIA
Pitches will be assessed on the quality of the story and feasibility
of the project. We’ll also have a panel on hand to give
feedback and offer advice to those pitching.
AUDIENCE
Audience members will also be given an opportunity to ask questions
of the pitchers, meet the judging panel and vote on how much each
pitch will receive through a secret ballot. If you are thinking
of pitching in the coming year, this is a great chance to witness
the process first hand and get an idea of what’s required.
As always at an MPG meeting, there will
be opportunities to network and meet other members or announce
calls for crew and cast for your next production.

THE FUNDING APPLICATION – INDUSTRY PANEL
What Can Make Your Application Successful
For many filmmakers the thought of facing a funding application
can seem overwhelming and for those who have been unsuccessful
the question they are left with is WHY?
The below Panel shed light on that question and broke down the
funding application into easily managed parts. With a Q&A
included.

The MPG SUBSIDY – PITCHING SESSIONS
Metro Screen supports the development of MPG projects through
an annual $15,000 Production Subsidy for equipment
and/or facilities. Four times a year, MPG members are given the
opportunity to pitch their ideas at formal pitching sessions.
In a truly democratic fashion, the MPG group votes to decide how
much support the pitched projects receive.
