Jump Start Production Subsidies
low cost access to equipment and facilities.....
The Jump Start subsidy scheme gets new productions off the ground by providing members with low cost access to facilities and equipment hire. Subsidies are available for video, television, digital media + multimedia productions. Application forms are available from the Media Services office.

Discounted appointments with Producer|Script Editor|Multimedia experts
Industry professionals provide you with advice on everything from funding, budgets, scripts, characterisation, plots lines, direction to new technologies and multimedia projects. This service is available to all members at a discounted rate. Contact reception for more information.

Members Production Group
share skills + resources and produce your project on a shoe string budget....
The MPG is comprised of enthusiastic members who meet monthly [first Tuesday of each month] to pitch new ideas, discuss work in-progress, share skills + produce their own projects. Metro provides a dedicated subsidy which supports the development of the group + the programs it runs.

Media Services + equipment hire
Metro hires Mini DV, DVCPRO cameras, tripods, lights, sound equipment + other accessories. Post production facilities include Final Cut Pro, Media 100 non-linear editing + linear BetacamSP suites. Metro’s facilities support mini DV, DVCAM + DVCPRO digital tape formats. Our studio is available for hire as either a dry space, bluescreen or multicam studio.

Skills Development
Metro Screen is a Registered Training Organisation with over 22 years experience in fostering the development of emerging filmmakers + digital media practitioners. Our courses are ideal for people entering the industry or looking to do top up training.
Metro was selected for the ‘NSW Small Training Provider of the Year 2003’ award, an acknowledgment of our excellence in vocational education + training.

We offer a flexible + comprehensive training program covering all aspects of video, television + digital media production. The short course program includes Video Production, Scriptwriting, Directing, Documentary Making, Production Management, Photoshop for Title design, DVD Authoring, Final Cut Pro Editing + Camera Techniques.
Full time courses including the industry approved Certificate II in Television & Video Production, Certificate II in Arts (Interactive Multimedia) and Certificate IV in Screen + Certificate IV in Digital Arts & Media.

Graduates of our courses have a strong presence in the film and television industries. They have gone into many areas including scriptwriting, camera operation, production design, screen direction + production management. Others have secured funding enabling them to set up companies and continue producing their own independent films. Many have been accepted into full time courses at AFTRS + Universities.
