Sony HVR Z1P HDV Camera
Ideal for indie filmmakers needing to produce corporates, student work and music clips. This camera records HDV, DVCAM and DV in both PAL and NTSC. Footage shot in HDV can also be directly down converted to SD from the camera, allowing backwards compatibility to standard definition or online environment. With 3x 1/3inch Super HAD CCDs [16:9], a Carl Zeiss Vario-Sonnar “T” lens and XLR inputs that can be independently operated at mic or line level.

Sony HVR Z7P HDV Camera This camera is a significant upgrade from the Sony Z1P work horse, though housed in a similar sized body it is the first HDV handheld camcorder with an interchangeable lens system, native progressive recording, and the option of solid-state memory recording. The camera comes with a 12x high-quality, multi-purpose Carl Zeiss lens for HD video, and features a universal standard 1/3-inch bayonet mount mechanism for easier lens changes. This unit captures HDV1080i, DVCAM, or DV and can record HDV/DVCAM/DV files to a standard Compact Flash solid-state memory card, while users are simultaneously recording to tape.

This camera is ideal for shooting corporates and documentaries but has the additional attractiveness of a more professional and adaptable lens system for those interested in extending the camera’s usefulness into the sphere of drama.

Sony EX Series PMW EX1 XD Camera
This camera will give Metro Screen students and clients access to the opportunities tapeless media acquisition has to offer, it provides significant upgrade in image quality from HDV with the XDCAM HD format which records a true 1920 x 1080 image. This camera offers high end professional features in a compact body, recording to SxS flash media cards giving faster than real time ingestion and seamless integration with Final Cut Pro. Output is from the camera via USB 2, from the supplied card reader, or from inserting the media card directly into your computer’s PCI slot.

With a fully featured Fujinon lens and the capability to shoot slow and fast motion with true progressive this camera is ideal for those wishing to step up to the next level of image quality, ideal for location and studio drama and high end corporate demands.
