Metro Screen’s production support programs are unique with participants receiving a cash budget, production facilities, training, mentorship, script development and a cast and crew screening with particular emphasis placed on a diverse production slate that allows individuals to take risks.
Production funding for emerging filmmakers without a produced screen credit in their respective roles for a project that has been released, broadcast or screened at a recognised film festival | projects up to 10 min | $4,000 cash budget | Open to all filmmakers with three places reserved Aboriginal or Torres Strait Island descent and three places for applicants from a multicultural background and one place for an applicant from regional NSW.
Production funding for emerging filmmakers who have at least one produced screen credit in their respective roles for a project that has been released, broadcast or screened at a recognised film festival. Applicants with feature or substantial television drama experience are not eligible | projects up to 15 min | $15,000 cash budget | Open to all filmmakers.
Production funding for emerging filmmakers who identify as an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent and have at least one produced screen credit in their respective roles for a project that has been released, broadcast or screened at a recognised film festival. Applicants with feature or substantial television drama experience are not eligible | projects up to 20 min | $22,000 cash budget.
Metro Screen, in partnership with Screen NSW, offers these three experienced filmmakers of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent, the opportunity to develop their film and storytelling skills through the production their short work.
Metro Screen's Jump Start production grants offer $45,000 worth of equipment and facilities annually via three application rounds. Applicants should be realistic about the amount of support sought. The Jump Start program provides substantially subsidised access to facilities to successful applicants, some cash contribution is required.
Network Production Grants of $15,000 are given annually. Awarded through our regular calendar of Metro Screen Network events.
