PHOTOSHOP FUNDAMENTALS (Beginner)
This course offers students a comprehensive introduction to Photoshop, a hugely popular image manipulation application. At the outset, fundamental concepts are introduced; the difference between bitmap and vector graphics, pixels and image size, display preferences and customising the Photoshop workspace. Next students become familiar with the important tools and functions of Photoshop including tools and palettes. Students learn about working with colour, channels, masks, layers and filters. A variety of image editing and retouching techniques are introduced, including red eye removal, patterns and combining images. As students gain confidence, they learn more advanced techniques such as using paths, shapes and automation. The course also covers preparing images for print or web publication. By the end of the course, students will have learnt how to get the most from one of the most powerful 2-D image manipulation software packages around.
